Why choose our wedding flowers?

I am a florist first, and a flower farmer a close second. I started to grow my own flowers in 2011 on our family farm when I couldn't source the gentle, natural, graceful blooms, of the sort that grew in my mum's garden. The type of flower that conjures up a childhood memory just from it's scent, or the way it moves in the breeze.

Slow grown flowers, from small scale growers are a world away from mass grown commercial flowers - the ones where you buy a huge bunch and every stem is identical.

I love to celebrate the uniqueness of each homegrown stem and I find that it's the unusual flowers, and wiggly stems that make my arrangments so natural. In recent years, the un-sustainable nature of commercially grown flowers has come to light and we are all starting to understand the impact of flying flowers around the world or routinely spraying flowers with chemicals.

We grow our flowers with organic principles, and I truly believe that utterly glorious wedding flowers do not need to come at the expense of the planet.

Fast-forward more than a decade and we now provide flowers for many weddings each year. We specialise in local, seasonal weddings with an element of DIY where the couple and their family will take buckets of loose flowers to be used for bud vases or aisle posies. We usually provide the bridal flowers and a few key venue arrangements.

Our flowers mostly come from our farm, where we have to source elsewhere we use the fabulous network of Flowers From The Farm to order from other growers nearby. Very occasionally we may have to order from further afield but this is a last resort.

We do not have a minimum spend for our Best of the Garden wedding flowers.

Don't just take our word for it...

Katie was lovely to work with for our wedding. On the day they arrived, the flowers were vibrant, seasonal, and fresh, and everyone kept telling us how lovely they looked with the rest of our decorations.

Liz - September 2023

Katie’s floristry style was exactly what we were looking for for our wedding - rustic, romantic and not too structured, but with lots of volume and texture. Everything provided was more beautiful than I could have ever hoped for, and absolutely completed the day.

Shonagh - August 2023

Katie provided the flowers for our wedding in June and they were absolutely stunning. The table displays and bouquets and church flowers surpassed all my expectations, I can’t not recommend the Dorset flower company highly enough.
